Experienced Dog Groomers [Position filled]

WOOOF is Canberra's newest, premium dog grooming salon that’s transforming the way we care for our family pets. With an ethical range of natural products, specialist hydro spa treatments for coat, skin and muscular health, state of the art sustainable salon and equipment, WOOOF is a vibrant and exciting place to work. 

We are expanding and looking for like-minded, experienced dog groomers to join our team. A range of full-time, part-time and casual positions are available with higher-than-award salary packages, mentorship, ongoing training from award-winning Master Groomers and the support to enable you to reach your career or competition goals. Our groomers aren't required to wash dogs regularly, so you are able to focus on your craft. Premium-grade equipment is supplied to suit your needs and is regularly maintained. Our fully qualified training team provides mentoring opportunities for the team and we offer a Cert III in grooming for those who might want to get a nationally recognised qualification.

If you are an experienced dog groomer with the following skills, we’d love to chat:

  • excellent knowledge of different dog breeds, temperaments and behaviours

  • high level grooming, clipping and scissoring skill with precision across all breeds

  • ability to treat all animals with kindness, patience, respect and compassion, and ensure their safety, health and well-being; and

  • strong interpersonal skills and a positive customer-first attitude.

Dog Bathers [Position filled]

We are expanding our team and are looking for like-minded, confident dog handlers to help wash, dry, brush and prep dogs to a very high standard ready to be groomed. A range of full-time, part-time and casual positions are available with attractive salary packages paid at award rates. On-the-job training, online learning, mentorship and support are available to ensure you achieve your work requirements and career goals including growing into a highly qualified dog groomer. 

As a bather at WOOOF you will be working in a brand new, fully airconditioned facility with state-of-the-art equipment. WOOOF has a team of qualified grooming trainers, so this role also has career pathways for those wanting to become groomers.

If you are a recent graduate starting out in your career, or studying in a related field with the following skills and attributes, we’d love to chat:

  • confident dog-handling skills 

  • physically strong, fit and able to manage different-sized dogs, temperaments and behaviours safely

  • ability to work in a fast-paced, busy work environment

  • remain calm and focussed under pressure

  • a team player

  • a genuine passion for dogs; 

  • highly emotionally resilient; and

  • interpersonal skills and a positive customer-first attitude.

Receptionists [Position filled]

Our recent expansion is creating more demand for high-quality customer interactions at WOOOF.

We are looking for a part-time receptionist to join our team, working closely with management. If you are an experienced receptionist with the following skills and attributes, we’d love to chat:

  • A love of dogs with strong dog handling skills

  • Knowledge of different dog breeds, temperaments and behaviors

  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to deal with complex and sometimes emotional interactions

  • Great communication skills that are applied to customers and colleagues

  • Calm and solutions-driven

  • Precise and highly organised with the ability to multi-task and remember detail

  • IT skills to help you manage and troubleshoot the booking system, phones, internet and EFTPOS
